Short-tailed Swallowtail (Papilio brevicauda)

Short-tailed Swallowtail ( Papilio brevicauda )

Gaspesie National Park, QC 2013/08/01

Member of Family: Papilionidae

French common name: Papillon queue-courte

This species is endemic to Eastern Canada. In the Maritimes, it is found along the North and North-eastern coast of New Brunswick, and Northern Cape Breton. The photo shown above is the only one I have so far. Unfortunately, this individual was in poor condition, and the tails are missing.
